About the Facility

Ivy Kennels, licensed by Wirral Council, offers a dedicated and high-quality boarding experience for dogs and cats on the Wirral. Managed by Stuart and Melanie Cooke, the facility aims to minimize stress and maximize comfort for all pets. Understanding that a kennel environment can be intimidating for some dogs, Ivy Kennels provides a stable routine, enriching activities, and ample human interaction to ensure a positive experience. Special diets and medications, including insulin for diabetic pets, are managed carefully. The kennels offer clean, modern accommodations and use both high-quality commercial food and meals provided by pet owners to best replicate the home environment.

My inlaws use Ivy Boarding Kennels on a regular basis, so we used them for when we went on holiday. They 2 dogs were very well looked after. The staff were lovely and friendly. I liked that there was the shop at the front, especially when it was time to pick them up. We bought them both a treat to greet them with which they were pleased with.

Used these a couple of times now and never had any problems. Would happily board my dog here again when needed.

My dog Paddy was put into Ivy Boarding Kennels on the 19th July, on the 21st July Paddy was taken to Birch Vets by the owner of Ivy Boarding Kennels, his symptoms were that he could not stand, he was soiling himself and he had not eaten for 2 days. the vet suggested that Paddy be put on a drip to see if he would improve but the owner of the kennels told the vet that he had been given verbal authority by myself to put Paddy to sleep and we were not to be contacted as we were on holiday which was totally untrue. All that the owner of the kennels was told to do was that if anything happened to our dogs while they were in Kennels i.e. if they passed away, then they were to be taken to Birch Vets to have a private cremation at no time was he given any authority to put any of my dogs to sleep.
